Danna Zeiger is the author of Rewriting the Rules, a STEM nonfiction picture book debuting from Millbrook Press (Carol Hinz, editor) on September 9, 2025. It’s available now for pre-order at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target.

As a neurodivergent scientist and author, Danna is passionate about making STEM accessible to all. She is represented by Gaby Cabezut at The Seymour Agency.

Danna’s unpublished novel-in-verse recently earned the PJ Our Way Partial Author’s Incentive Award, and she has been selected for a prestigious 2025 writing fellowship (announcement coming soon). Her accolades also include Highlights Foundation scholarships (2023) and the PJ Library/Highlights Picture Book Summer Camp (2022), among other writing honors.

A published scientist, Danna's research has appeared in journals such as Science, Neuron, and PNAS, and she’s written for newspapers and blogs. Her expertise has been featured in the New York Times and on the Magical Mommy Monday podcast.

Danna is a proud member of Inked Voices, 12x12, and SCBWI. She contributes regularly to Writers’ Rumpus and serves as a judge for the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair.

Formerly a biology professor and program director at Fisher College, Danna supported first-generation and underrepresented students. While homeschooling her three spirited kids, she created DrZatHome, a STEM accessibility and education resource.

I’m passionate about making STEM accessible for all.
